Swimming Sessions

The school has its own swimming/hydrotherapy pool and hydrotherapy sessions take place, led by the physiotherapy team based at The Bridge School.

The physiotherapist also produces hydrotherapy plans for individual children that are implemented by school staff. Provided of course that medical clearance and parental consent have been given, pupils have the opportunity to attend swimming sessions set aside for their class. Basic swimming skills are taught and just like children in mainstream education, pupils are able to progress through a wide range of achievement awards be this at school in our own pool or at a local leisure centre e.g. Kingstanding.

Normally pupils are excluded from swimming sessions on medical grounds only. If your child is unfit to swim on any occasion, we would ask you please to send in a note of explanation.
