A Message from our Family Support Worker

Hi, my name is Louise Wall and I am the family support worker for The Bridge School.

My role is to provide support and advice to the families I work with in school. I provide support to address a variety of issues. Our aim here at The Bridge School is to engage with and empower children and parents. I aim to uphold the importance of building good relationships so that we can work together to support our families. To help them feel empowered to make positive choices to enable children to thrive both at home and at school.

Advice and support for families will always remain confidential, although concerns relating to safeguarding of children will always be dealt with in accordance with the schools Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.

Parenting may not be a perfect journey, but an opportunity to love and guide your child. I am here to provide support for the families at The Bridge School, to be a listening ear, solution finder and someone to share your worries with and help to advocate for your child.

I will focus on encouraging your child/children to:

  • Enjoy and achieve
  • Build resilience and confidence
  • Stay safe
  • Have a voice and be heard
  • Encouraging positive behaviour
  • Improve school attendance

I will also be able to:

  • Signpost families for help with finances
  • Provide emotional support
  • Help with applications for benefits
  • Transport for children
  • Make referrals to supporting services
  • Hold Coffee morning’s, Parent workshops and fund raising events
  • Support with housing
  • Parental and carer wellbeing
  • Behaviour advice and support strategies
  • Issue food bank vouchers
  • Support in times of need
  • Uniform and clothing bank
  • Make home visits
  • Provide advice on toileting
  • Help with finding play schemes and local support
  • Facilitating Friends of the Bridge- Parents and Teacher association
